About ME
As an ESL and Bilingual Education Consultant, I enjoy working with educators to integrate technology and ESL methods into instruction as a catalyst for language development, content learning, and student engagement. I have worked as an ESL and bilingual teacher as well as EL program coordinator. As a teacher, I taught amazing elementary school students from various language and academic backgrounds in a variety of contexts including pull-out, push-in, co-teaching, and in a newcomer classroom. I love to bring my experience with instructional technology and meaningful digital learning into my work by supporting teachers in their technology explorations and creating digital resources for both English Learners and their teachers.
I am a lifelong student who continues to find herself back in classrooms as a learner. I'm drawn to the classroom to explore interesting areas of study that relate to English Learners. Specifically, I have studied special education, gifted education, and digital learning, and how those fields contribute to a more complete understanding of English Learners in our country. Currently, I am a doctoral student at DePaul University working on an EdD in Curriculum Studies where I am investigating the intersection of English Learners and instructional technology. |
